Brainstorm a list of challenges teachers may encounter when involving students in the assessment process.

• It may be more time consuming when students are involved in the process.
• Students may not take it seriously.
• Students may not be honest.
• Getting access to a computer lab.
• Students think of assessing in terms of a"test" as opposed to an ongoing process.
• For students to think outside of the box means that they have to go beyond black and white thinking.
• Students don't expect the assessment to be as thought-provoking as the learning activity.
